iConnect Consulting leverages over 25 years of combined laboratory, systems development, and customer service experience to deliver business solutions and services to laboratories in the public and private sectors. We are specifically focused on providing configured Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) into clinical, molecular diagnostics and public health markets.

Business Analysis

Our senior laboratory Subject Matter Expert (SME) conducts business process analysis across the various business units, or laboratory sections, in order to document the existing, or “As-Is” business model. Next, the SME tailors a “To Be” workflow for the client, which incorporates key requirements captured during the requirements analysis phase. Through intimate knowledge of the system, our SME strikes a balance between configuration of existing, or COTS, functionality and custom development. During the process, the SME looks for opportunities to leverage synergies and commonalities to ensure that we meet or exceed client expectations in terms of system functionality, budget, and project timelines.

Configuration

Our senior technical SME configures the system according to the functional and user specifications described in the “To Be” analysis document. More than 8 years of successful STARLIMS implementations allows our SMEs to leverage their knowledge of the system and find shortcuts by reusing similar functionality from other projects instead of reinventing the wheel.

Laboratory SME works closely with the technical SME during the configuration time on finding the optimal way to implement certain functionality and performing ongoing testing and validation.

Testing and Validation

iConnect uses a uniform system to document and track all testing issues. Multiple testing cycles can take place before all the fixes have been re-tested and closed.

Due to ever-changing business needs and requirements, ongoing improvements to the LIMS is a continuous and necessary process. Using ITIL-certified Service Management methodologies, iConnect establishes a framework for the customer to provide regular maintenance and support for the product once the implementation phase ends.
